• Bridges To Life has helped me by allowing me to share the
positive lessons I have learned from my negative experiences
with people who can benefit from the knowledge.
• Until the offender has to put a face to crime, they will never
change their ways. You have to get to their heart first to change
the mind.
• I have learned how to forgive, because I have come face to face
with people who have committed similar crimes, and have seen
that change of heart is possible.
• BTL has helped me understand a little better why people do bad
things. But the best thing I receive as a victim volunteer is
seeing that hearts can be changed.
• Participating in Bridges To Life helped me to get control and
understanding back in my life.
• I never in my wildest dreams thought I would empathize with
those behind bars. The common feelings shared by both the
offenders and the victims are incredible.
• Hope...That's what this program is about. The healing is
amazing on both sides.
• I am here to make a difference! I want to save the world one
person at a time!
• Forgiveness affords the victim with great relief from a heavy
burden.
• Bridges To Life gives hope to the victim volunteer that the
inmates will not commit other crimes against other people. This
is the great hope of all who participate in the Bridges To Life
Program.
• I really think telling my story to prisoners helped empower me.
I felt I was directly targeting the audience that needed to hear it
the most.
• This program allows us to share, tell and demonstrate first hand
to offenders the effect that crime has had on our lives.
• You never get over the tragic loss of a loved one, but you learn
how to live your life differently without them, knowing that you
are positively contributing to the lives of others.
