The real issue for business to control are costs. Without a cost advantage, offshoring would not exist and with European manufacturers now facing skills shortages and a fundamental loss of technical process skills to produce component level parts, there are new challenges ahead. Follow the money, and you will find exchange rates, quality, freight costs, raw material costs, inflation, delivery problems, missed deadlines and a host of other issues that will dictate what happens. For the present time companies already offshoring have to manage these, or to employ companies who specialise in managing offshore manufacturing.
