In interactive digital communication era, Electronic Sports (also known as eSports or Competitive Gaming) is becoming a real sport, not inferior to traditional sports. Especially, in developed countries, as South Korea, US, UK,... According to Philippa Warr (9 April 2014), in 2013, it was estimated that approximately 71,500,000 people watched competitive gaming. However, there is no clearly theory says that eSports is a sport, it seems to be an debate about the semantics between “sport” and “eSports”. “It’s not a sport — it’s a competition. Chess is a competition. Checkers is a competition….Mostly, I’m interested in doing real sports,” according to John Skipper (ESPN president). So, this research will aim in 2 question:
1. Is eSport a sports? Why?
2. What is eSport consumption motives different from traditional sport?
