I’m writing to update you on the timing of bonuses and salary adjustments related to the 2013 end-of-year review. We are working hard to make this process as fast, certain, consistent, and helpful as possible.
All 2013 bonuses, and any adjustments to salaries for 2014, will be paid in all markets during the March payroll run.
For some employees, this means that you’ll be receiving those payments 30 days later than last year. (Please note, however, that the new salaries will still go into effect on February 1st - just as in the past. Only the payout date will change. See the questions and answers, below, for details.)
We have made this decision for reasons of size and scale. We now have about 1,500 employees in 29 countries. Making performance reviews and bonus and salary calculations are accurate and consistent takes time. In addition, Agoda’s compensation changes must be approved the Priceline Board of Directors. This approval is not received until mid-February – which makes it hard for us to change the February payroll.
As you know, we are working hard to use automation to make all of Agoda’s people processes more efficient. We are also expanding the size and scope of our learning and leadership development offerings. We hope these improvements will make a difference for all employees in 2014.
