Perioral and raoral characteristics : Mucoceles may have appearance that can blue hue with a somewhat transparent y depending upon their proximity to the surface epithe- lium. Most appear slightly elevated and exhibit a smooth appearance. This is especially true when they occur in the oral mucosa of the lip area. Mucoceles may also appear in the palate, and they may be in any area where there is sali- vary gland function or accessory gland ducts. Mucoceles are asymptomatic in almost all cases. The size may vary greatly, ranging from a few millimeters to centimeters, and is usually under 1.5 cm.
