Coloured(red or green)nets have been promoted since 2007 with envisaged effects on phytochrome, photosynthesis,yeild,fruit quality and colouration e.g. in apple , grape and kiwi(e.g. Dussi, Giardina,& Reeb, 2005; Retamales,2006.However, the effects of coloured hailnets on fruit quality, taste,consumer appeal and nutritious constituents like fruit size and firmness, vitamin C, soluble solids, acidity and fruit colour have not been investigated to our knowledge.
