Hanoi (VNA) – A Vietnam-Germany forum held in Hanoi on November 11 has highlighted the need for drastic measures to improve the management of water resources in river basins amidst worsening pollution.

In opening the forum, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Vo Tuan Nhan said bustling socio-economic activities in regions downstream major rivers have brought about problems in the environment in general and in the water environment in particular.

The quality of water resources has degraded in many river basins, especially where there are urban areas, industrial parks and craft villages. The situation is worst in the basins of Cau River, Nhue-Day Rivers in the north and Dong Nai River in the south.

Hanoi (VNA)-một diễn đàn Việt Nam-Đức tổ chức tại Hà Nội vào ngày 11 tháng 11 đã nêu bật sự cần thiết cho các biện pháp quyết liệt để cải thiện việc quản lý tài nguyên nước ở lưu vực sông giữa ô nhiễm xấu đi. Mở diễn đàn, thứ trưởng bộ tài nguyên và môi trường võ Tuấn nhân cho biết các hoạt động kinh tế xã hội nhộn nhịp ở vùng hạ lưu sông lớn đã mang lại các vấn đề trong môi trường nói chung và trong môi trường nước đặc biệt. Chất lượng của nguồn nước đã xuống cấp ở nhiều vùng châu thổ sông, đặc biệt là nơi có khu vực đô thị, khu công nghiệp và làng nghề. Tình trạng này là tồi tệ nhất trong lưu vực sông cầu, sông ngòi Nhue ngày ở phía Bắc và sông Đồng Nai ở phía Nam.
