A mineral phase with a composition identical to olivine (Mg,
Fe)2SiO4 (‘Ol’) was identified in diamond from placer deposits of the
Juina area in Brazil, where it forms colorless grains, associated with ferropericlase,
MgSi- and CaSi-perovskites, and TAPP (Wilding et al., 1991;
Kaminsky et al., 2001; Hayman et al., 2005), as well as in diamond from
Kankan, Guinea where it associates with TAPP
