The method for visualizing gestures has been presented. The
method is based on separating various acceleration components,
eliminating tilt effect during the gesture and integrating projected
signals. The visualization was tested with real users with 12
gestures. The tests were performed using gesturing and offline
visualizations of gestures. The tests indicate that a mental picture
of the performed gesture can be conceptualized by utilizing the
developed visualization method. Even 90% of visualizations were
associated with a right type of gesture when gesture set was
familiar. This suggests that visualization clearly provides
information about the performed gesture, and it could be utilized
in providing essential feedback and guidance to the user in future
gesture control applications.
