18-24 months we see the development of the language centers. And finally, finally the very front part of the brain we call the prefrontal cortex, which is responsible for abstract thought, reasoning, judgment, and regulation of emotion, the most important part of the brain is the last one to develop. And I mentioned that that is the part that controls executive function, the most important thing our brain does. And there are three components to executive function. The first is self-control which is basically the ability to stay focused and to resist temptation. Not to be distracted, to pay attention to something. The second is working memory which is the ability to hold info in your hand while mentally working with it. And the third is what we cognitive flexibility which is the ability to apply something you learned in one context in another.
