As the overall perspective is Relativistic, a plurality of points of
view, interpretations and frames of reference are acknowledged,
and their structural features provide the grounds for analysis,
comparison and evaluation. On the basis of the values the
emphasis is on reason, logic and rationality as the means of
establishing, comparing and justifying knowledge. The valuing of
logic, rigour and purity leads to and internalist view of bodies
of knowledge as a consisten, self-subsistent, richly
interconnected structures, which are pure, neutral and value-
free. Thus knowledge is seen to be objective and independent
of human and social vlues and concerns.
