Australia and New Zealand are vibrant, modern, busy, and multicultural countries. Many people have dreams to visit these two countries and see the great nature and unique animals. Although Australia and New Zealand are close to each other geographically and are similar in many ways, they are also having a difference. Australia and New Zealand are similar in a number of ways. To start; they are similar in their first language. To illustrate, both speech English as the first language and both have indigenous languages as well. The second point of similarities is ethnic groups. For instance, both are multicultural countries and both have the European group as the major group of their populations. The last point is major religions. Australia and New Zealand have three main kinds of religions and the Christianity represent the major group.
Despite these similarities, there are some important contrasts between Australia and New Zealand. Firstly, geography and population. Australia occupies a much larger area than New Zealand. In fact, Australia occupies 7,617,930 square kilometers of land, while New Zealand occupies a considerably smaller area of 268,021 square kilometers. Australia has a much larger population than New Zealand. To illustrate, Australia's population is roughly about 22 million, whereas New Zealand has a population of approximately 4 million. Australia has a large area of desert in the middle part of the country, whereas, New Zealand has a big area of mountainous regions. Secondly, the climate is differ, the annual rainfall in Australia is about 450mm whereas in New Zealand is 1500mm. Average temperature in Australia ranges from 6°C to 20°C , while in New Zealand, average temperature is minus 10°C to 15 °C. Finally, difference in currency, although both have same name of their currency (Dollar), the value is different and the cones and notes are different as well.
