Hi David,
Yes, the reason for the confusion was that my team only suggested they will check with MY colleagues as if containers are to be stored at the border, there ‘might’ be charges. My team is not aware of the new processes and your discussions with SCJ yet, as still awaiting the final new SOP from your end. So they were trying to get the documents a few days in advance as per usual to avoid waiting at the border for Form D.
“Our team tried to asked invoice with LF Beauty team for tomorrow booking due to tomorrow is Friday cannot do form D within this week, must postpone to do it with cross border in next week since to waiting from D. (the process of Form D need 3-4 days after receive invoice from Shipper only Mon-Friday process) and we informed them in case of waiting from D maybe have the overnight charge but apply by Schenker MY team. (if any) only inform you. :”
Anyhow, I spoke to Keena and told her that no extra charges beyond what is agreed with Malaysia already.
Furthermore, I also managed to speak to Ganesan and I felt there is an internal misalignment in the new process, as Ganesan still believes no need for containers to stay at the border. But now since we cannot get the documents before loading, they will have to wait as we discussed and presume you set the expectations correctly with SCJ.
Best is to internally align and then email my team the clear new SOP, to avoid such instances in future.
