RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER SERVICE MANAGEMENT PROCESSES
Design coordination pulls together the activities that take place in service design. It performs a similar role to that undertaken by transition planning and support within the service transition phase of the ITIL service lifecycle.
There is also a strong link to project management activity. Design coordination is in a position to provide projects with guidelines, standards and policies in relation to the design of services and then to monitor adherence to these guidelines, standards and policies throughout the life of the project. Design coordination helps to ensure that the project deliverables are what are required and expected and that all areas are working in the same direction.
