Effects of lighting color on meal size
A two-way ANCOVA found a significant two-way interaction of
lighting color and gender in the meal size (i.e., the amount of food
consumed) [F(2, 104) = 4.28, P = 0.02]. As shown in Fig. 2, the meal
size significantly differed across lighting colors in men (P = 0.002),
but not in women (P = 0.90). Men consumed significantly less of the
meal served under blue lighting than under yellow (P < 0.001) and
white (P = 0.03) lighting. The meal size was not significantly different
between yellow and white lighting conditions (P = 0.22).
