CONCLUSIONThe participants attempted to carry out their external andinternal tasks, which were driven by ETGs and ITGs thatpushed them to assertive behaviors. Furthermore, the ITGsinfluenced the occurrence of assertiveness by enforcing theexternal tasks.The executive agents were auxiliary variables.The Nursing Leadership Assertiveness Model could beused for prediction or prescription in Iranian nursing afterfurther research and refinement. Based on the model, bringinga change in the support from the top managers, improvingself-learning skills, and learning psychology might be effectivein improving Iranian nurse leaders’ assertiveness. Inaddition, by developing an instrument that includes items onreligious and ethical beliefs and the family and social growthconditions, as well as the learning (or not) of assertiveness inthe past, one can predict nurse leaders’ assertive behaviors inthe future.
