The chemical storage room should be in a separated building from production. The building
should be fire resistant and electrical explosion-proof or protected.
„h The chemicals mixing operation, if stationed inside the factory, should be in an area that is
segregated from workers.
„h The same requirements apply to the mixing room and the chemical storage room; fire
resistant walls, doors, well natural air ventilation, and electrical explosion-proof. PPE should
be provided to workers who are working in the chemical mixing room.
„h Flammable materials (e.g. wooden pallets and cardboard boxes) may not be used and/or
stored in the storage rooms. Secondary containment to prevent leakage and spills of
chemicals must be installed in the storage rooms, and contamination of soil or natural water
must be prevented.
