Of course your managers don’t want you to go, they’ve got a talented localization engineer on the cheap. If you’re happy to continue where you are for more money then I guess that is OK, but I really think that you should re-examine the reason you applied and interviewed for a position with us in the first place.
I expect that you probably feel a strong obligation to your current workplace and colleagues. While that is an admirable sentiment I’d suggest that you look at your own and your employer’s obligations intersect and how they balance out. I’m actually surprised that you feel this way as former staff of TransPerfect (we’ve had a few over the years) usually don’t have anything nice to say about the place.
Of course, I’m saying all this for selfish reasons; just remember that your directors will be saying the opposite for the same reason :)
The working remotely thing is absolutely not going to work: I can’t have you working for two masters and you’d be in material breach of both your employment agreements.
I’d like to keep the door open on this. You’re the best prospect for a loceng I’ve seen in a long time and it’s very hard to find good ones. See h
