Table 3 presents the unadjusted and adjusted hazard ra- tios (HR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) of death due to each air pollutants among Whites. The results suggest that exposure to air pollutants including PM10, PM2.5, and O3 was significantly associated with both overall mortality and cause-specific mortality for respiratory cancer patients. Consistent results were observed when only cases in Los Angeles were included. Furthermore, similar results were found in the sensitivity analysis when only cases with lung and bronchus cancer were included (results not shown).
