Many researchers have reported that MC influences the value of biomass fuels for direct combustion due to high heat of evaporation of water. The endothermic limit for biomass combustion has been reported at a MC of 65%, while biomass with MC above 50% is already said to require a supplemental fuel in order to burn adequately [11]. Based on the results, only longan seeds fall below this limit and, therefore, dehydration of wastes would be required for efficient combustion. Proposed methods for drying biomass have been reviewed and increased combustion efficiency resulting from reduced MC was documented [34]
