What Causes Laziness?

What do you think causes laziness? Is it some kind of genetic disorder passed down through the family line? Such a hypothesis would be appealing to anyone who suffers from laziness, but is ultimately not satisfying enough for those of us who really want to understand the problem. You might also believe that laziness is caused by chemtrails, or flouride in the water, or any “tin hat” stuff like that. Perhaps there is some vague evidence to support this, but it is insufficient for our purposes. So what actually causes laziness? In this article I am going to introduce you to the three pillars of laziness. These are three separate factors that are responsible for laziness and lack of action-taking in most people.

The three pillars are:

Distraction – an external force that prevents you from taking action. A common example of a distraction is Facebook; it can get in the way and prevent you from doing the things you want to do. Distractions can also be classed as things you can “get rid of” in order to beat the lazies. Modern multitasking is a terrible cause of distraction as it puts too many different things in front of us at once.
Procrastination – a psychological cause of laziness that basically means you put off things you need to do. This might sound somewhat similar to distraction, but the difference lies in the fact that procrastination is an internal factor. It comes from within your mind and can be caused by various factors like fearing a negative outcome, or not being able to find a starting point.
Lifestyle issues – poor diet, lack of the right vitamins and minerals, and/or insufficient exercise can also contribute to laziness by leaving you with little energy. For example, if you have an unhealthy diet that is laden with junk food and sugary snacks/drinks that lead to hormone spikes, then you will probably feel lazy because of them (think about the last time you ate unhealthy food. Did you feel tired and lazy an hour or so later?)

In my professional experience, most people who complain about being lazy identify to some extent with all three of the pillars of laziness (obviously one may be more of a problem than another). By destroying the impact of these different pillars, you will overcome laziness and become infinitely more motivated and pragmatic.

In my recently-released Kindle book, Ticking Away: How To Overcome Laziness & Stop Procrastinating you will learn everything you need to know about what causes laziness, including how each of the pillars of laziness work in relation to one another. Furthermore, you will also discover exactly how to beat the lazies forever by destroying your personal pillars of laziness. Over 1000 people have already read my book on Kindle, so you would be crazy not to check it out for yourself (it will only cost you $3.99 – chump change for the knowledge and resources you need to change your life forever).
