Satisfaction with present pay: Extension agentsworking in the agricultural extension department arepaid in different pay-scales. The respondent’s opinionabout the pay-scale is presented in table II. The tabulateddata show that in district Swat 13% of the respondentswere satisfied with their pay, 87% were not satisfied withtheir pay. While in district Buner 7% respondents weresatisfied with their pay, while 93% of the respondentswere not satisfied with their pay. In the study area 9%respondents were satisfied with their pay, while 91% ofthe respondents were not satisfied with their pay. It isconcluded that an overwhelming majority of therespondents were not satisfied with their pay. The sameobservation was made by Mallilo, (1990) stated thatextension agents were not satisfied and did not havepositive attitudes toward their jobs and receive thenecessary recognition from within the organization.The Chi-square calculated value for percentdistribution of the respondent’s perception about thesatisfaction with present pay in the two districts is 7.46,which implies that the null hypothesis was accepted byrejecting the alternative one, that percentagesdistribution of the respondents satisfaction withpresent pay are same in the two districts.
