After the financial tsunami yesterday, I surfed the web to check the worldwide reactions and comments on what are expected to Britain and the world after Brexit.
I'm surprised to note UK is divided both geographically and among generations. While the country is split almost down the middle (51.9% voted Leave and 48.1 voted Remain), the divide is also among the old and the young with younger people voted Remain while older people voted Leave. Very sadly, the Leave left the young to experience Brexit most deeply and for the longest.
The dive of sterling in the early hours of yesterday sent UK from the world’s fifth largest economy to the sixth.
While one needs to buckle properly to ride the bumpy and unexpected economic road ahead, the generation split seems worldwide and is one of the big challenges of a globalized world today.
