one of the most problematic
costs to manage when
running a fleet is fuel.
Petrol prices have been
far from stable, but the
overriding trend of the past
few years has been up.
In March, the price of petrol at the pump
in main centres hit $2.21 per litre, just 2c
shy of the highest ever price recorded (in July
2008). Diesel was also more expensive, up
5c at the at the start of March from a month
earlier.
As year end approaches, fleet managers
may find their fuel budgets are already
overrunning, and will be looking for ways to
reduce costs now, and for the new financial
year.
Here are four key areas to think about
when seeking to reduce your exposure to
fluctuating petrol prices.
