1.8.4 Selection and Exploitation of Quarry
1. Selection of Quarry
Concrete quantity of the project will be 46,100 m3, and according to overview of the quarry the concrete aggregate required in this project will be produced by the uniformly arranged aggregate plant which can meet the quality requirements of the project.
According to the conditions and locations of the quarry, it is to preliminarily select the L/B uuarry 1km D/S of the dam site of this project is recommended quarry, near which it is to arrange a uniform aggregate plant to produce coarse and fine aggregate for supplying to the HPP. According to the geological prospecting data the reserves can fully satisfy the construction needs of the project.
2. Earth-rock materials and block stones
The filler materials required in this project will be used at the main dam the saddle dam the headrace channel, the forebay the penstock, the powerhouse, the tailrace channel works and cofferdam, and the project needs they may be locally selected. The clay content of earth material is relatively high, which can meet the seepage control requirements and excavated materials from the channels may be directly used as the earth-rock fillers.
3. Exploitation of Materials
It is to selct the L/B quarry 1km D/S of the dam site to supply the coarse and fine aggregate for the entire HPP, part of the earth-rock fillers may be directly used the excavated materials from the channel or excavated and transported from the disposal area with 2m3 loaders and 8t dump trucks.
1.8.5 Construction of principal works
The complex structures of Houay Por HPP mainly comprise the main dam works, 1# headrace channel, the saddle dam, 2# headrace channel the forebay, the penstock, the powerhouse complex and the tailrace channel, etc.
The principal works are mainly to be constructed by professional construction teams; it is mainly to conduct mechanized operation, supplemented with manpower. According to construction diversion, in the master construction program, the main dam is to be constructed by two phases, the saddle dam is to be constructed by diversion with culvert pipe during the low-water season, and the headrace system is to be constructed all year round, while the powerhouse complex is to be constructed all year round.
