Speaking is one of the aspects of language that helps students to communicate. By speaking, students can tell everything they think. The purpose of teaching speaking in the language lessons will encourage communication and proficiency speaking in inside and outside the classroom.
There are factors that influence the students difficult to speak English in the classroom, the first factor relates to the students themselves. Students do not have a high learning motivation, so students considered learning English is complementary, not important, and is not a national language. As a result, they do not follow the lessons well in class. The second factor is related to the English teacher. Teachers still feel the experience and knowledge of the students towards the English language is lacking and the methods used are still monotonous. Thus, students are not interested in the lesson students are not able to express the English language correctly. The third factor relates to the media, sources, facilities and equipment in schools as a result of student learning activities become monotonous.
This makes the students speak English lacking implement in the classroom, so we conducted this study to determine causes the lack of the students to use English in the classroom. We find out why we will provide a solution to the students so that they are more often speak English. The research is conducted to describe the comparison of the implementation of English speaking atmosphere at SMA Negeri 1 Pakem, SMA Budi Mulia, and SMA UII.
