The values for water vapor permeability reported here were higher than those reported by Smith for high density polyethylene (0.2 g mm/m2 d kPa) (Smith, 1986), and lower than those reported by Taylor for cellophane (7.27 g mm/m2 d kPa) (Taylor, 1986), with the exception of bioplastics made with 3 g/100 g native manioc starch and gelatin in the ratios of 1:1 and 1:4, and plasticized with sorbitol.
