COMPONENTS OF THE INNOVATION CONFIGURATION FOR MATHEMATICS
Key components of effective mathematics instruction addressed by the Innovation Configuration are the following:
1.Subject-matter knowledge in mathematics (or the teacher’s knowledge of the content
being taught)
2.Mathematics topics for student mastery
3.Knowledge about how to most effectively teach mathematics (or the teacher’s knowledge
and use of effective instructional strategies in teaching mathematics)
The following sections briefly describe the components of the Innovation Configuration that should be addressed by mathematics teacher preparation and professional development programs. Preparing teacher candidates in these core competencies can result in more effective instructional processes and outcomes and the advancement of student learning in mathematics (National Mathematics Advisory Panel, 2008).

bagian berikut menjelaskan secara singkat komponen Konfigurasi Inovasi yang harus ditangani oleh persiapan guru matematika dan program pengembangan profesional. Mempersiapkan calon guru dalam kompetensi inti ini dapat mengakibatkan proses pembelajaran lebih efektif dan hasil dan kemajuan belajar siswa dalam matematika (Nasional Matematika Advisory Panel, 2008).
