The Brookside School physical education and health department is hosting a healthy snack challenge. Every week, students will be encouraged to bring in either a fruit or vegetable of a specific color as their snack. The challenge is that it must be one ingredient only. For example, week one will be the color red. Some examples of one ingredient foods that are red would be: strawberries, cherries, tomatoes, peppers, radishes, olives or beets. Teachers will then tally the number of students in their class who brought in a one ingredient food of the correct color. A running tally will be kept by the teacher for the entire 6 weeks. Fruit or vegetable flavored foods and juices will not be counted!! The class with the most participation will earn an extra physical education period!
