Their patterns of
use most closely followed the black, non-Hispanic group
rather than the white non-Hispanics. Medical and institutional
claims were screened for diagnosis codes for the
following coexisting mental health problems: anxiety,
emotional disturbances, depression, affective psychoses,
schizophrenia, hyperkinetic disorders, substance abuse,
conduct disorder, and development disorders. These
were grouped into three categories: mood, conduct, and
developmental disorders (Table 4).
