ERP systems are expensive, complex and take relatively long time to implement. Once
a commitment to implement ERP is made, its acquisition and successful implementation
require skillful planning and hard, dedicated work to execute the plan. The plan should
include the project scope, objectives and time frame to specify intended outcomes and
major deliveriables. To make the ERP system ready for the user by a specified time and
within budget a series of complex activities must be carried out. All of these activities
require attention in the form of project management.
