Google Thailand has launched a new feature called "Hot Trends" that allows users to find the day's hottest keywords in Thai.
Hot Trends tags the day's most-searched keywords in more than 50 languages worldwide. Thai is one of the 10 latest languages available for this feature.
Pornthip Kongchun, head of marketing at Google Thailand, said the feature was part of the free Google Trends service.
"Google Trends, a service available at Google.com/Trends, is a digital marketing tool that allows users to determine criteria [surrounding] a search, while Google Hot Trends monitors near-real-time top keywords of the day. It represents the hot issue or topic of any particular day," she said.
Apart from Google Trends, there are many search-related services, including Think with Google, which provides inside information that can be applied for specific industries, Google Adwords, and Google Partner Programs.
"All services related to Google searches are offered free of charge for businesses to use as digital marketing tools," Pornthip said.
Google has also released its annual Zeitgeist feature. This is the first year that it includes the most searches done via mobile devices. Google Zeitgeist monitors consumers' online behaviour, including the top searches and trend in several categories.
"The top brands with the most searches are likely to be active in digital marketing, such as having mobile apps and mobile sites, rather than websites only," she said.
Currently, there are 18 million mobile Internet users in Thailand. The average Thai spends nine hours and eight minutes online per day.
