Results showed that except for triglyceride (TG), there was no significant difference in blood
cholesterol, HDL-c or LDL-c concentrations between any group. However, at day 42, blood
SOD was significantly higher in chicks fed 2% compared with control values. A reduced MDA
and GPx concentration but increased TAA value was found in broilers fed purslane at 1 and
2% compared with controls. Results suggest that purslane may prevent oxidative stress in
broilers.
