Sample collection and isolation of yeastA total of 33 samples including soil, plant decayand sugarcane bagasses were collected from sugarcaneplantations and sugar factories in Udon Thani, Khon Kaen,Nong Bue Lum Pu, Chaiyaphumi, Kalasil, Roi Ed,Mahasarakham and Nakorn Ratchasima provinces. Atotal of 84 isolates of yeast were derived after isolationusing the enrichment culture technique (Table 1). Basedon the number of isolated yeast, it can be concluded thatsugarcane plantation is one of the best ecosystems forisolation of yeast.
