According to the findings of this study, it can be considered that both of anger and anger expression are related to suicidal thoughts. Although the studies on anger and suicidal ideation with adolescents are rare, our result is consistent with that of a previous study which showed that suicidal ideators had a greater level of anger and poorer anger-control than non-ideators did. Although the cutoff threshold was from another culture and a different age group , more than 60% of the participants in this study could be considered as clinically significant suicidal ideators. School based programs for adolescents’ mental health may be needed to reduce the suicide rate. School teachers and parents may teach children ways to cope with anger and ventilate frustration that would ultimately improve their ability to cope with school pressure. Also, parents need to be flexible about academic performance and excessive competition to reduce school pressure on their children.
