Dear Sutana,
RE: FINAL WARNING OF MENZIES INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY’S INTENTION TO REPORT FOR UNSATISFACTORY ATTENDANCE
I refer to the first warning letter that was sent to you on 13/10/2015 cautioning you of your poor attendance record.
As of the date on this letter, it has come to our attention that your attendance is below the acceptable level (refer to MITP41 English Attendance Recording, Monitoring and Reporting Policy). Your attendance record must be at least 70%.
- Attendance to date - 34%
- Maximum possible attendance for the semester - 45%
You will be granted 20 working days commencing from Tuesday, 8 December 2015 (refer to MITP07 Complaints and Appeals Policy and Procedure), during which time you are able to appeal the decision to report you to DIAC/DEEWR for non-compliance of attendance, if you believe one or more of the following have happened;
l The Institute has not recorded or calculated your attendance correctly.
l There are compassionate or compelling reasons which have contributed to your unsatisfactory attendance.
l The Institute has not made relevant policies available to you.
You will need to complete and submit the MFS04A Student Appeal Form to the Student Services Coordinator at the Institute within 20 working days from Tuesday, 8 December 2015.
Failure to provide the Student Appeal Form within this period will result in reporting and cancellation of your enrolment to DIAC/DEEWR. Please note that this may have an impact on your visa.
If you wish to discuss this matter further, please make an appointment with the Student Services Coordinator. You can bring a friend with you if you wish.
