The findings of this study showed significant relationships between parents’ employment
status and discrepancies in disinhibition, and discrepancies in total ESS respectively,
indicating a general tendency for parents and their adolescents to be less different in

measured the employment status of parents (e.g. full time, part time, or currently
unemployed, and retired) was used for this analysis. These results are consistent with
previously cited studies which found a connection between behavioral problems, and the
time parents spent with their children (Randazzo, Landsverk, & Ganger, 2003; Treutler &
Epkins, 2003)
