8.2 Working with the POWER ELECTRONICS board
The POWER ELECTRONICS board consists of dedicated zones for certain operations: supply of AC or DC
voltages, measurement of voltages and currents and making of various transformations as required by
the hands-on experiments.
Contacts installed in each zone on the board are used for making electric connections between the
circuits that are already assembled on the PCB, as well as for the supply of power to the circuit and
measurement of various parameters by the NI ELVIS II workstation. All the electric connections are
established with the supplied set of connector wires (see Fig 5 on page 16) which are inserted into the
connectors on the board according to the schematic diagram provided on the screen for each hands-on
experiment. Any electric connections on the board, unless specified otherwise in the lab instructions,
must be made when the power supply of the board is disconnected (board power switch (1) on Fig 7,
page 17 must be in the OFF position, red LED in the lower left corner of the board must be off).
