The University of Minnesota provided an ideal environment for the development of tests of high abilities and aptitudes. It was the home of the Miller Analogies Test, a test of high intelligence that, at one time, was used by all graduate schools for admission. It was also the home of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Test, which is still the most respected personality test in employment situations, hospitals, government, military, college, and university settings. In its Counseling and Testing Bureau, for many years it developed the Strong Vocational interest Test, as well as clerical, mechanical, and dexterity tests.
