3.1. Soil moisture content
Soil moisture content in the field experiments was measured at
different depths. Unstressed plots (control) had higher soil moisture
content than stressed plots (Fig. 1). There was a variation in the
soil water content at the different depths of sampling. The lowest
water content was observed at the depth 10 cm (Fig. 1). Reference
evapotranspiration (ETo) and crop evapotranspiration (ETc) of
onion as estimated by the FAO Penman-Monteith method is shown
