One was a group of managers, currently studying for an MBA degree in the International Management Centre (IMC), Pacc Region, and the other a group of academic staff responsible for directing, supervising and examining postgraduate dissertations and theses in one Queensland university. These first interviews with each group explored what might be the main problems or opportunities, and were conducted using the Nominal Group Technique. We decided to use this technique in order more efficiently to establish agreed areas of concern, to elicit suggestions for improvement, and to facilitate the design of an appropriate interview structure to be used in a later stage of this research.
