Accountability means being answerable and implies a legal,
moral, or other obligation to someone as though he is sitting in
judgment and can in some way call you to account. You are
accountable to someone when you have a duty to him or her. While
responsibility is largely a matter of your own behavior and who you
are, accountability is based on rules, expectations, or judgments by
yourself and others about whether your actions are praiseworthy or
blameworthy and who you are answerable to.
