Soil samples of 1.000 g in duplicates were equilibrate with 25 mL of the solutions in 100-mL polyethylene centrifuge tubes for 24 hr at (25 ± 2)°C in a constant-temperature shaker. Then, each of the solutions was separated from the solid phase by centrifugation at 5000 r/min for 10 min.The lead and copper in the solutions were determined by AAS (TAS-990, Beijing Purkinje General Instrument Co., Ltd., China) and the amount of the heavy metals adsorbed by the soils was calculated from the difference between the total amount added and the amount remained in the equilibrium solution.equilibrated
