In the aftermath of the global financial crisis, many countries have implemented or are planning new reforms regarding the transparency of executive compensation. Transparency is key to restoring trust amongst shareholders, employees, customers and other stakeholders, and hence to improving corporate reputation. Companies that are taking a proactive approach towards aligning their reporting with this global trend and improving disclosure with regard to executive compensation will be in a better position to fend off criticisms. In this question, we assess whether companies are able to disclose this information.
