OVERVIEW
Precision Agriculture is used along the agricultural value chain from choosing the right input, optimizing the production and harvesting process, to making better decision in the overall operation. IoT1 is used in the agriculture industry to allow farmers to manage the big amounts of data ; ICT technology is the key enablers to allow data transfer, communication, and connection among different technologies. Satellite Imagery enables collection of geospatial features data. Sensors technologies are used to collect in-field information (e.g. humidity, temperature, soil condition). Farm management system aggregates all collected data and uses Big Data Analytics to provide information and insights to support farmers on monitoring and management of the farm (e.g. recommendation on area-specific input requirement on seeding, fertilizer or pesticide amount). Robotics and automations are used to assist in operation, leveraging auto-guidance, telemetry, unmanned aerial vehicle, etc.
