A route discovered between a source node and destinationnode is maintained as long as needed by the source node.Since there is movement of nodes in mobile ad hoc networkand if the source node moves during an active session, it canreinitiate route discovery mechanism to establish a new routeto destination.Conversely, if the destination node or some intermediatenode moves, the node upstream of the break initiates RouteError (RERR) message to the affected active upstreamneighbors/nodes. Consequently, these nodes propagate theRERR to their predecessor nodes. This process continuesuntil the source node is reached. When RERR is received bythe source node, it can either stop sending the data orreinitiate the route discovery mechanism by sending a newRREQ message if the route is still required.
