New legislation to govern all types of “permissions”
The government permission facilitation Act B.E. 2558 was promulgated in the Royal Government Gazette on 22 Jan 2015 and will come into force 180 days after the announcement date or from 21 July 2015 onwards.
The new Act is proposed to govern all types and levels of permission, e.g. permit/licensing, approval, registration and notification: and to clearly specify related procedures and timeframes. It requires all relevant issuing authorities to strictly follow and deliver within specified timelines, Failure to meet such timelines would incur penalties for the officers-in-charge. Detailed guidelines and manuals will be made available to the public and accessible from the government offices and by electronic medium. Moreover, a one stop service centre will be set up to facilitate the application process and clarify which are essential for doing business
