There will be a web announcement to be published on 25th March 2015 (Wed) to inform customers on the termination of SHOUTcast service for STR-DA5500ES since Dec’14. This is due to SHOUTcast changing their API from December 2014 and as a result, the Internet Radio service is not available except for the preset stations. After much consideration, Sony decided to end the provision of this service due to difficulty in supporting changes to the API.
On the same day, there’s also a firmware update released for FY10 models (STR-DA5600ES, STR-DA3600ES, STR-DN2010), to resolve the same SHOUTcast API change issue. These 3 models are launched in AU only, therefore the firmware update will only be noticeable for customers visiting SAUS website.
