Implications for nursing management
The Uganda Ministry of Health and nurse managers
should put in place policies which enhance organizational
support to the nurses such as hiring, retention
and promotion policies. This will ensure that more
nurses are on the job, reduce the work overload and
increase job satisfaction and job performance. Further,
Nurse Managers and other administrators in health care
settings should be trained in human resource and
organizational management so that they are equipped
with skills to address the above issues.
