colleagues from Pakistan are leading a Technical Forensic and Prosecutorial workshop at JCLEC, by bringing a senior delegations from various countries together their objective is to expose all to International best practice in the exploitation of pre/post blast bomb scene materiel with the aim of building networks and sharing experiences to enhance the implementation or development of relevant CIED strategies in their own countries.
The British Embassy in Jakarta will be supporting this important forum and we hope to bring stakeholders from all the South East Asia Forensic/IED units including Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore to Semarang alongside Pakistani as well as Afghani experts so there is broader learning for all through knowledge exchange.
The attendance of relevant experts from the Royal Thai Police in particular would be very welcome in this forum, particularly in light of the recent Erawan shrine bombing and the IED activity in the South of Thailand. The expectation is that Heads of relevant investigative units/laboratories/bomb data centres will attend and will bring with them relevant case studies or perspectives on how they are bringing forensic recovery from the scene to prosecution in their countries and can share with the group.
Funding for economy travel accommodation and related expenses for two relevant experts from Thailand will be met by the UK and will be coordinated through our liaison officer at JCLEC. The workshop will be run in the English language. A workshop programme will follow in due course.
I hope that this request meets with the approval and support of the Royal Thai Police.
Yours sincerely
